Our Founder Osman Vedat GENÇTÜRK 1914 – ∞

Our Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ömer Nail GENÇTÜRK

Our industrialist Vedat GENÇTÜRK, who contributed to the Turkish economy and industry throughout his life, started his working life with his father at the age of 13. Starting his business life with a small shop producing and selling cologne and essence in Ankara, Vedat GENÇTÜRK was involved in both trade and various businesses between 1938-1950.

In the early 1950s, the company named GÜLTAŞ started to produce beauty products under the license of the French COTY Cosmetics company. Later; It made sector changes in parallel with the change and development processes of Turkey.

The Dutch company “Oce Netherland BV” has carried out the first “Blueprint Paper” production in Turkey with the license of the company. It continued this production until 1986. In our country, it continued the production of photographic printing paper and x-ray film under the name of “Vedat Gençtürk Heliographique Paper Factory” at the address of “İstanbul, Tophane, Lüleci Hendek Street”.

In 1963, for the first time in Turkey, production trials and studies of self-adhesive papers and tapes were started at the same address.

In 1965, it moved its facilities in Istanbul Tophane to the factory built on its new land in Istanbul Küçükçekmece Sefaköy. Starting from 1968, with the changing needs and demands in all sectors, the production of solvent-based, self-adhesive products was also started.

Label and flexo printing machines were put into operation in early 1971. Starting from 1973, the production of self-copying, physically reactive papers under the title of “Ve-Ge” and the registered trademark “Self Copy”; and from 1978, hotmelt and water-based adhesives and silicone application techniques were applied.

In 1981, the production of the first chemically reactive, self-copying "Auto-Copy" papers began in Turkey. Then, the production of thermal and fax papers was carried out.

Our Founder Osman Vedat GENÇTÜRK passed away on May 25, 1992. From this date on
Mr. Ömer Nail GENÇTÜRK has been the chairman of the board of directors since then.

Foundation Years

The first "Blueprint Paper" production in Turkey was carried out with the license of the Dutch company "Oce Netherland BV".

In our country, the production of photographic printing paper and x-ray film was first carried out under the name of “Heliographique Paper Factory” at the address on Lüleci Hendek Street, Tophane, Istanbul.

1963

For the first time in Turkey, production trials and studies of self-adhesive papers and tapes were started at the same address.

1965

The facilities located in Istanbul Tophane were moved to the factory built on its new land in Istanbul Küçükçekmece Sefaköy.

1968

In parallel with the developments in Turkey, the production of solvent-based, self-adhesive products was added to its existing production.

1971

Label and flexo printing machines came into operation.

1973

The production of self-copying, physically reactive papers was carried out under the registered trademark “Self Copy” under the title “Ve-Ge”.

1978

Holtmelt and Water Based adhesives and silicone application techniques were applied.

1981

The first self-copying "Auto-Copy" papers were produced in Turkey using chemical reactions. This was followed by the production of thermal and fax papers.

1992

I. Pulp Offset and copy paper production started.

1996

Production of A3, A4, A5 copy papers used today has begun.

2004

The band facility in Istanbul was renewed and integrated with our Izmir Kemalpaşa facilities.

2007

Protective tapes were added to the products and printing technologies were increased to 8 colors.

2008

Polyethylene film production started.

2009

Production of industrial tapes began.

2016

With various investments made until 2016, our 1st Dough production has reached the range of 40gsm-140gsm and an annual production capacity of 90.000 tons.

2017

The investment decision for our tape facility has been taken.

2017

The land of our Ve-Ge 2 Band Production facility in İzmir Kemalpaşa was purchased.

2018

The foundations of our Ve-Ge 2 Tape production facility were laid

2018

Our ministry-approved R&D center has been put into operation.

2019

Saturation machine installation

2019

Investments were made for drying revision and capacity increase.

2019

Our first energy investments have started with the establishment of our cogeneration facility.

2020

With the completion of the investment in 2020, our tape facility production capacity has exceeded 1 billion m2.

2020

Our Ve-Ge 2 Band Production facility started production on 51078 m2 land in İzmir Kemalpaşa.

2020

First paper trials and chemical trials in October

Our environmentally friendly steam energy facility has been put into operation.

2021

Paper Saturation/Impregnation machine was added to the machinery park of our Ve-Ge 2 Tape Production facility.

2021

A revision was made for low grammage production.

2022

Current production standardization has been achieved.

2022

The first phase of our solar power plant project has been completed and put into operation.

2023

With the investment made, the A4 cutting capacity of our paper facility has reached 90.000 tons/year.

2024

Our production capacity was increased by adding a flexo printing machine to our machinery park.

2024

By the end of the year, our facilities in Izmir Kemalpaşa had been expanded to 130.000 m2 and our investments continue.
